“The Death of Little Ibsen is an exquisite little one-act show that evokes the best of Jim Henson’s early, dangerous days with the Muppets.” – The New York Times
In April 2006 Wakka Wakka premiered The Death of Little Ibsen at the Sanford Meisner Theatre in Chelsea. The play is a unique blend of theater history, puppetry and dark comedy mapping poet and playwright Henrik Ibsen’s quest to find his true self.
The production was invited to perform at the National Theatre of Norway in Oslo at the International Ibsen Festival 2006, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Ibsen’s death. The Death of Little Ibsen has toured at major colleges and universities throughout the United States, as well as at The Overture Center in Madison, Wisconsin, The Orlando Puppet Festival and the International Figure Theatre Festival in Kristiansand, Norway.
